EAST BEACH

WELCOME TO EAST BEACH

Enjoy East Beach's close-knit oceanside community

East Beach is a hidden gem located approximately twenty minutes away from downtown Norfolk. This community is a few neighborhoods specifically designed in the traditional Tidewater-style architecture of Virginia. Tidewater homes are known as Virginia's vernacular architecture, which is exclusive to this part of the Atlantic coast. Vernacular architecture is a home that incorporates elements of the area where they are found, so for a coastal property, this involves wide porches for ocean breezes and houses influenced by the early English colonists who settled in this area. East Beach is a small section that falls under the city limits of Norfolk, but it's really a tiny square of land with extraordinary neighborhoods, a marina, beaches, and Tidewater-style mansions.

Local life in this part of town really centers around the beach, and many people have their own boat slips or rent spaces at Little Creek Marina. The beach includes a section along the ocean called Ocean View Beach, which is 7 miles of pristine coastline. There's also a public beach that has access to a dolphin run, and many visit it hoping to see majestic dolphins emerge from the water.
