SANDBRIGE

WELCOME TO SANDBRIDGE

Sink into the Atlantic sands and a secluded, suburban lifestyle

Sandbridge is another beachy, coastal community located along the Atlantic shores and home to many residents who value their privacy. This community is only open to the public through one main road and has many private beaches. The private enclave is located on the Currituck Banks Peninsula, and the 4.5 miles of gorgeous beaches, homes, and small restaurants are overseen by Virginia Beach proper. However, this part of the Outer Banks is resplendent, and many individuals own vacation homes along this peninsula on the Outer Banks. This section of Virginia Beach is valued for its remote location away from the Virginia Beach Strip. Although there are no commercial hotels on the peninsula, the properties are frequently rented to tourists, but there is the main gate and calm beaches. Though remote, Sandbridge is still stunning and a desirable locale.

WHAT TO LOVE

1. Peace and quiet away from the Virginia Beach strip

2 .Public and private beaches on the ocean or bay

3 .Beachside condos and estates with nautical touches

4. Feels like an authentic, small resort town

LOCAL LIFESTYLE

People who move to Sandbridge tend to truly value the beach and oceanfront. It's quieter and further away from the larger resort area and navy center. This section of town is more sedate, quiet, and peaceful than anywhere else.

DINING, ENTERTAINMENT, AND SHOPPING

Although Sandbridge is on the small side, Little Island Park is one nice little place to visit with outside entertainment opportunities. This sandy park is over 130 acres in size and offers sports courts and spots on the shoreline for crabbing, fishing, and swimming. In terms of restaurants, a few cater to upscale cuisine. Baja is a vibrant spot with a great sampling of New American and seafood plates. The Jose Tequilas Mexican Grill and Bar is considered a tasteful Mexican restaurant with an ample supply of liquor. There are no major commercial districts in Sandbridge, but there are still places to pick up gourmet groceries. The Sandbridge Seaside Market is the main market in town and has fresh seafood. If the summer sun is too hot, then Sandbridge Sugar Shack serves up ice cream cones all day.

THINGS TO DO

Most of the recreational activities in this area involve partaking in the Sandbridge Beach lifestyle, which is relaxed and laid back. This coastline peninsula has numerous places to fish, swim, and surf. One beloved area park is Beach Birding Park, which is right along the shoreline and has a lovely, clean beach. The Sandbridge Fishing Pier faces the Atlantic and is a superb place to cast a line out to sea. Sandbridge is near the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, the Atlantic, and the Back Bay, so many value Sandbridge for its position relative to the undeveloped preserves. They find the smaller vacation homes and preserved wetlands hail back to what drew settlers to the area centuries ago. The beaches and dolphin kayaking routes here may provide the most entertainment here, but Sandbridge is always within driving distance of the more crowded, developed sections of town and boardwalk there.
